Greentop releases their second full length album, "Meadowlark"
Dedicated to Isaac and Lucas Jahns’ late grandmother, and written over the span of 5 years, Meadowlark is the newest addition into the Greentop record books. The seven song full length leaves no stone unturned, no theme unbroached - each song serving as snapshot of a life in flux.
For the better part of four years, the 400 miles between Rochester, Minnesota and Columbia, Missouri symbolized the balance and reflection of Greentop’s Isaac Jahns. The two cities (Jahns’ hometown and college town, respectively) are the two largest cities along the path of U.S. Highway 63, snaking through farmland and small towns along the way. Greentop, Missouri is one such town, linking this Minnesotan to northern Missouri forever and giving him routine seven-hour meditation sessions to create his own sound.
Greentop began in 2017 as a solo project and evolved greatly over two years, moving from sparse acoustic music to a powerful indie-rock five-piece. The band’s lone LP, 2018’s “Dumb Luck,” helped Greentop grow past the stages of southeast Minnesota and play across mid-America. 2023 marks their post-pandemic revival and a move to Minneapolis - symbolizing the natural maturation of the bandmates and the sound they create.
